Tracy’s “wow” sound experience:
When I was young, I visited a whisper room in an audio exhibit that demonstrated how sound could be focused between two points. It enabled two people to speak softly and be heard at a distance while people between the two talkers could not hear what either talker was saying. When I left the exhibit, I had to immediately find out how it worked!
Tracy’s favorite part of a day at Listen:
I enjoy the enthusiasm that builds among the Listen team members when an idea or solution is found that helps a customer. Whether it is resolving technical issue, thinking of an idea that makes it easier to learn how to use a product, or finding the right product for a customer application, the enthusiasm is infectious.
Tracy’s dream sound product of the future:
My dream product would be an audio system that would be installed in a room and remove the effects caused by a poor acoustic environment that lower intelligibility. The system would enable people to communicate as clearly and easily as if they were right next to each other in a quiet, well treated acoustic environment regardless of the environment or distance from each other.
Tracy A. Bathurst joined Listen Technologies as a product group leader in August 2011. Prior to joining the listen team, he held several positions at ClearOne Communications including Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Vice president of Product Line Management. He has over 20 years of experience in the professional audio/visual and telecommunication industries. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Utah University.
