Overview

The CU 4010 Central Control Unit (CU) powers and controls conference units and mixes the audio. The CU 4010 can control and power up to 100 conference units. System settings such as operating modes (Automatic, FIFO and Manual) are accessible via the menu on the front of the CU.

A PC, MC 4000 or 3rd party control device (AMX/Crestron) can be connected to the Central Control Unit to allow the operator to remotely control conference units. In the event of PC failure, the Central Control Unit will revert to its stand-alone operation mode, enabling the conference to proceed.

The Central Control Unit has one balanced audio input (line level) for an external audio source and two balanced pre-fader audio outputs (line level, microphone level) for recording or amplification of the mixed feed of all active conference units.

FAQ

What’s the difference between the CU 4005 and the CU 4010?
The CU 4005 allows for one microphone chain with 50 units, the CU 4010 allows for 2 microphone chains of 50 units each for a total of 100 units.

How many conference units can be connected to a single CU 4010?
100.

How far can the daisy chain cabling go?
A single extension cable must not exceed 330 ft. Maximum total cable length is 660 ft.

Can I mix and match different microphone styles with the system?
Yes. You can mix table top units with flush mount units.

Is the cabling proprietary cabling?
Yes.

Does the system work with third party control companies such as AMX or Crestron?
Yes, however RS 4232 card is required.

How can I use CDS 4000 for an Interpretation system?
The CDS 4000 is a discussion system only. The mixed floor channel from the CDS 4000 will need to be connected to a separate Interpretation system.

Is it possible to have the loudspeaker active when a headphone is used on the CDS 4000 unit?
There are no headphone outputs on the CDS 4000 microphone units.

What is the maximum number of chairman's units, which can be connected to CDS 4000 discussion system?
Up to 10 chairman units can be active simultaneously in addition to the 6 possible active delegate units.

Are there any software applications that I can use with the CDS 4000 system?
Yes, the SW 4210, 4211 and 4220, features monitoring, microphone control, geographical/mimic display and database. The software is functional in parallel with other control units such as the MC 4000 and external control systems. Note: The SW 42XX requires an RS 4232 interface card to be inserted into the CU.
