Overview

The DC 6990 P is a fully digital portable conference unit perfect for permanent or temporary meetings with speech, voting and/or language interpretation. The unit features a built-in loudspeaker, a 3 pin XLR connector for a pluggable gooseneck microphone (sold separately), two channel selectors, two microphone buttons and a large 3.5 in. (89 mm) high resolution color touchscreen. The touchscreen can be customized for one (1) or two (2) meeting participants to log-in and view text written in their own language, vote and select an interpretation listening channel. The user also has the ability view the active speaker list, agenda or voting results. This gives the flexibility for the meeting organizer to tailor the functionality of the unit to each and every meeting.

The unit can either be controlled by the delegates or remotely by the operator/conference chair. The gain/sensitivity of the microphone/loudspeaker can be remotely controlled by the operator. The microphone button is surrounded with an LED to indicate whether the unit is on (RED) or in the request-to-speak queue (GREEN). The loudspeaker is automatically switched off when the microphone is activated to prevent acoustic feedback. When the unit is configured as a chairman, the second microphone button transforms to a priority override. The ingenious design of the unit is not only elegant but also provides the option to attach a name plate or logo. The units can be easily daisy chained with shielded FTP or STP Cat-5e cables (sold separately).

FAQ

Do I need software to use the voting feature?
No, however a voting feature license is required to unlock the voting functionality. The DC 6990 Touchscreen Unit has the ability to start/stop votes when it is configured as a chairman unit. The results will then be automatically displayed on the touchscreen when the vote has been stopped.

How many microphone units can be connected to the CU?
The total number of units that can be connected is based on cable length, type of CU and the type of unit being connected, but on each output of a CU 6010 you can typically get about 30 to 42 delegate/chairman units, or 20 to 30 flush mount units, or 16 Interpreter Sets. More units can be added with extension power supplies. Contact Listen Technical Support for more information.

How far can the daisy chain cabling go?
200 meters without any repeaters. Up to 640 meters with repeaters and further when using optical cables. Contact Listen tech support for more information.

Can I mix and match different microphone styles with the system?
Yes, all the DCS 6000 units with a loop through (all except the DT/IT) can be connected in parallel or serial configurations.

Is the cabling proprietary cabling?
No, but it must be shielded Cat-5 (FTP /STP). Depending on the specification, higher shielded CAT cables can be used for extension cables as well.

Can I use a conference system without chairman unit?
Yes you can, however, there will not be any priority function available. The chairman will not be able to manage the microphone system.

How many microphones can be connected to the CU 6005?
50 without a license, 500 with a license and additional power supplies.
