Architectural Specs

The LPT-S4 Basic Assistive Listening Soundfield System shall consist of one (1) LPT-C2 Control Unit, one (1) LPT-R12 Room Module, one (1) LPT-T216 Assistive Listening Transmitter, two (2) LR-400-216 Receivers, and four (4) LPT-A104 Ceiling Speakers. The system shall be capable of the addition of two M1 microphones. The control unit shall be capable of accepting two (2) unbalanced stereo inputs. The unit shall incorporate a single digital rotary control and LCD display for selecting audio, setting volume, system customization, and status of the microphones. The control unit shall incorporate automatic audio selection of audio sources. The unit shall be capable of being configured via a USB port. The unit shall be capable of being mounted on wall or table by means of a snap in platform and shall be wall, desk, or rack mountable. The room module shall connect to a control unit using a standard Cat-5e cable and shall provide bi-directional communication with infrared M1 microphones by means of an emitter-sensor built in to the room module. The room module shall accept up to two (2) microphones simultaneously and the microphones must be capable of auto-registering. The room module shall be capable of driving four independent speaker zones with a total power of 60 watts (RMS) at four ohms impedance. The room module shall provide high-resolution equalization for popular ceiling speaker models and provide a seven-band equalizer, consisting of two tone controls and five bands of fully parametric equalization for room equalization. The room module shall provide 512 points of speaker equalization specific to certain speaker brands and five-bands/two tone control room equalization. The room module shall be capable of adding two (2) additional IR sensors. The unit shall have a bidirectional RS-485 communications port that allows the system to communicate from and to other audio-visual products and control systems. The room module shall accept an external paging input that shall reduce the speaker level when paging audio is present. A general-purpose interface shall provide an isolated input and a SPDT relay out that shall accept and deliver controls to external equipment. The room module shall snap into a mounting platform that can be mounted to wallboard and ceiling tile and shall have a cable cover. The room module (except for the IR lens) shall be paintable. The Assistive Listening module shall be capable of broadcasting on 57 channels within the 216 MHz frequency range. The device shall broadcast on both wide and narrow band channels with a SNR of 70 dB or greater. The module shall have an audio frequency response of 50 Hz to 10 kHz, ±3dB. The LPT-T216 Assistive Listening module shall connect to the ListenPoint® room module using a Cat-5e cable. The LPT-S4 Basic Assistive Listening Soundfield System is specified.

Q What is the warranty of the LPT-S4?

Q When I plug in the external microphone into the M1 does it disable the microphone element on the M1?
A Yes, the external microphone takes precedence over the internal microphone.
Q On the external line input on the M1 can I mix my microphone audio with this and how do I adjust the input level?
A Yes, the external line input on the M1 will mix with either the external microphone or the internal microphone. You adjust the level of the mix by changing the output level on your external device e.g. the output of your iPod.
Q Can I lock out the buttons on a M1?
A Yes you can via local programming of the M1.
Q Does the LPT-C2 include a rack mount kit?
A No, you need to purchase the LPT-A101 Rack Mount Kit separately.
Q Can I use Cat-6 or Cat-7 cable with the CU?
A Yes, however Cat-5e is the minimum.
Q What is the maximum length of Cat-5e cable between CU and RM?
A Maximum length for full power is 75 ft. (23 m)
Q How much does the RM weigh?
A The RM weigh’s 1.75 lbs. (.8 kg)
Q Can I interface to a 70 volt system?
A If your facility has a 70 volt (or 25 volt or 8 ohm) paging system, you can feed that signal into the “Paging Input” on the RM. The RM can pass the page through to your ListenPoint™ speakers, and/or duck the audio from the ListenPoint™ system. The ListenPoint™ system does not have a 70 volt output. The four power amplifiers are designed to drive either 8 or 4 ohm loads. You may however use either a non-powered RM or take the Line Output from the CU and drive a 70 volt power amplifier.
Q Does the system have Muting or Ducking function during Paging?
A Yes, there are four levels of ducking Low, Medium, High, and off. Low is 6 db, Med is 12 db, and high is 18 db.
Q How large of an area can systems cover?
A The RM with its onboard sensor emitter can accommodate a 30’ x 30’ (9 m by 9 m) room. For larger rooms you will need to add up to two additional remote IR sensors.
Q How many microphones can be used with the LPT-R12?
A Two (2) M1s can be use at one time.
Q What is the ListenPoint pickup pattern?
A The ListenPoint M1 has an omni-directional pattern.
Q Will the ListenPoint system accept stereo inputs?
A Yes, All stereo inputs are summed internally to a mono signal. The rest of the signal path within the ListenPointâ„¢ system is mono. Even though the CU has a Left and Right Line Output, it is actually a mono signal.
Q Does the CU have an Auto-Off feature?
A The M1s have an auto-off feature, however the CU does not.
