The 600-seat River Oaks Community Church, in Goshen, Indiana, recently purchased a ListenRF system with Listen Technologies’ next generation solution to meet both assistive listening and language interpretation needs. iDSP, or Intelligent Digital Signal Processing, revolutionizes the listening experience. The 600-seat church, with 1,200 congregants, decided on the Listen Technologies solution after a free demo of the system.
Already familiar with Listen solutions, Tim Blaum, Technical Director at River Oaks, was quick to see the benefit of the newly introduced assistive listening technology. The following features were deciding factors in the system meeting River Oaks’ needs:
• Ideal solution for both assistive listening and language
interpretation
• Custom channel programming for assistive listening or language interpretation. River Oaks can program “ALS” for assistive listening and “Spanish” for interpretation making it easy for the congregants to select the channel they need
• Integrated neck/loop lanyard for T-coil hearing aid users, delivering a listening experience comparable to an installed hearing loop
• Li-ion batteries reduce cost of ownership, battery changing hassle and are eco-friendly
While there was some initial question whether or not to spend the money on a new system, once the free demo was tried, the funds were quickly allocated for the project.
The language interpretation capability is popular among churches who want to serve any congregant at any service rather than holding special language only services.
