Listen Technologies’ IR Assistive Listening System Installed in Over 70 Courtrooms at the New Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

BLUFFDALE, UT, June 11, 2015 — The new 20-story, 714,000-square-foot Broward County Courthouse currently under construction in downtown Fort Lauderdale will feature 77 courtrooms once it opens later this year. What it will also offer is pristine assistive-listening audio in each one of those judicial spaces, thanks in part to the inclusion of the ListenIR IR systems from Listen Technologies Corporation, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of assistive listening products for over 16 years. The systems, each consisting of the LT-82-01 Stationary IR Transmitter, an LA-140 Stationary IR Radiator, and LR-44 IR Lanyard 4-Channel Receivers connected to LA-165 stereo headphones, will deliver exceptional sound with twice the power, and with coverage area up to 30,000 square feet, transmitting clear, focused audio directly to the intended audience — and no one else — with quick and easy installation and maintenance. The ListenIR systems were specified for the new Broward County Courthouse by AV systems consultancy Marsh/PMK International, and are being installed by AV systems integrator Pro Sound, Inc.’s Miami office.
“The Listen Technologies IR system is a great fit for a project like this,” observes Dave Stearns, Senior Consultant with Marsh / PMK International. “IR is the best solution for security for the kind of information that’s divulged in courtrooms, compared to RF solutions, which can spill between walls. IR keeps the audio contained within each individual space.”  Read More >>>
