Listen Technologies Helps to Create an Inclusive Environment for Fremont High School Performing Arts Theater

Fremont High School senior Hayden Reeve liked performing in high school musical theater productions, but he hadn’t had much opportunity to participate fully with his hearing loss. Reeve has a cochlear implant and utilizes an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, but that wasn’t enough to help him keep track of lines, songs and stage cues for his high school’s theater production of “Anastasia.”

Athens Regional Library System Providing Assistive Hearing Technology in Meeting Rooms

The Athens Regional Library System is now offering assistive hearing technology with Listen EVERYWHERE hearing loops in select locations. The Listen EVERYWHERE loop streams amplified sound over a dedicated Wi-Fi network. The audio can be accessed via a free mobile app or a smart lanyard receiver available upon request. The technology is helpful for anyone who would like to listen to an event’s audio on their own device. It is especially beneficial to people who have hearing loss.
