Listen Technologies Corporation has embraced social media as a means of reaching out to all aspects of the AV industry including end users, dealers, consultants and colleagues. The company is using Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and WordPress blog postings to communicate news, ideas, product information, events, customer stories and more.
“The use of social media allows us to communicate on a more informal basis with customers and colleagues, and it breaks down some of the barriers in reaching people,” said Cory Schaeffer, VP of Sales and Marketing at Listen. “While traditional forms of corporate communication are still vital, they don’t normally allow the personality of our company to shine through. The informal nature of Facebook and other social media allows us to post information in a casual way, as if we were speaking directly to a friend.”
Ms. Schaeffer also noted that the instantaneous nature of social media can be a great benefit. “The speed of this communication is amazing; we can almost instantly get the word out on an interesting application or a product update,” she said. “And, unlike some of the more traditional methods of communication, people can interact directly with us by posting responses and comments.”
