Listen Technologies has expanded ListenPoint capabilities with the introduction of control from external control systems. This new feature expands presentation capabilities by enabling integration of a control system with a ListenPoint system.

ListenPoint amplifies a presenter’s voice to deliver clear, intelligible audio in classrooms, training rooms, boardrooms and multi-purpose spaces. ListenPoint also integrates and controls multi-media audio sources and extends the same consistent audio experience to both the audience in the room and remote participants through applications such as Skype, WebEx, and GoToMeeting.

“Now presenters can control projectors or displays from the ListenPoint M1 or select audio sources, control volume, or get battery status from an external control panel,” noted Tracy Bathurst, ListenPoint Product Group Leader at Listen Technologies. “This option allows teachers and presenters to focus on what’s important – engaging the audience and presenting an impactful message.”

External control systems are connected through the Listen Bus port of the ListenPoint R12 Room Module using a Cat-5e cable and RS485 protocol to interface to the control system. Configuration is done either through the ListenPoint configuration software. ListenPoint can control volume, mute, M1 battery status, M1 connection, report serial/model numbers, report or set relay state, report 6-12 volt input state, page audio present, and report/set active aux input. All commands are text based for easy programming and compatibility with most control systems.
