“wow” sound experience:
When I was 18, I started working in a small camera and hifi shop in Santa Monica. It was there that I first experienced real high-end audio gear. I remember listening to the largest speakers I had ever seen at incredible sound pressure levels and thinking, “this is officially part of my life.”
Craig's favorite part of a day at Listen:
Most mornings when I arrive, I get a quick update and then go the the kitchen for coffee. Frequently, I’ll bring my laptop and just hang out. The ambience, the people getting moving in the morning, the coffee buzz, it all makes for a relaxed yet energized feeling.
Craig's dream sound product of the future:
Direct to brain audio. Seriously. Direct stimulation of the auditory sensing regions of the brain. We’re close with implants…just imagine what little nanomachines could put in there.
Craig Devin’s career spans many areas from retail store management through design to executive management. Craig has always been involved in audio in some aspect. Most of his career has been devoted to making things that people can use to enhance their creativity. He truly enjoys leading talented people to bring out the best fresh new ideas they can generate. Craig also enjoys the execution phase - the hustle of getting things to market.
Craig was fortunate enough to learn both manufacturing and engineering processes, which have helped him understand how to bring things to market in short time frames with robust designs. He also enjoys applying aggressive industrial design to products for differentiation. If you are going to pay for tooling, why make a boring product?
