Cory’s “wow” sound experience:
Early in my audio career I was helping a company set up a large ALS system for Audio Description for the movie Forrest Gump. We used several hundred receivers so the audience could experience what it was like to only hear and not ‘see’ the movie, the way blind people experience movies. To listen to the movie with descriptive narration was a powerful and amazing experience and reminds me of the importance of audio in our lives.
Cory’s favorite part of a day at Listen:
Seeing people at Listen take ownership of their responsibilities and watching them grow and flourish.
Cory’s dream sound product of the future:
A wireless audio product that is in such demand that everyone wants it hanging off their ear. It is so fashionable that worldwide the demand is so great that Listen simply can’t keep up with production or keep it on the shelf. We’re selling millions and millions and it’s more fashionable than the iPod and even my kids think what I do for a living is just so “cool”!
Prior to establishing Listen Technologies Cory Schaeffer was National Sales Manager for Gentner Communications from February 1988 until July 1997. She managed the distribution channel for pro audio and teleconferencing markets and the internal sales staff. She worked for Bassett Sales Corporation from July 1997 until January 1999 where she managed a distribution organization in eight western states. She also represented several product lines in the communications industry. In 2009 Cory was elected to the InfoComm International Board of Directors to serve a two year term. In 2010 she was reappointed to serve another two year term.
Cory is passionate about sales and loves the reward and challenges it has brought to her both personally and professionally. She believes strongly that true success has come from the long term relationships that she has developed with representatives, consultants, integrators, and distributors in the audio visual industry.
Cory has been an example of leadership and loyalty to me for over twenty years. From the day we began working together, her ethics of talent and determination became immediately apparent. She has developed not only a strong work ethic for her own company Listen Technologies, but for, and on behalf of the audio industry.
