Overview

The WC-DV-C is a wireless fully digital portable delegate conference unit perfect for permanent or temporary meetings with speech and voting. The built-in loudspeaker and microphone create the personal one-on-one conversational experience in large group meetings enhancing the productivity and communications in these meetings. The additional voting buttons provide for consensus voting in a meeting. The wireless unit is powered by a custom Lithium-ion battery pack and can be optionally powered by a wall power adaptor (sold separately).

The unit can either be controlled by the chairman or remotely by the operator/conference chair. The volume of the loudspeakers can be remotely controlled by the operator via a web based set up application built into the wireless access point for the system. The microphone button is located between two LEDs to indicate whether the unit is on (RED) or in the request-to-speak queue (GREEN). The loudspeaker is automatically switched off when the microphone is activated to prevent acoustic feedback.

In combination with the access point (WC-WCAP+) and a chairman unit (WC-CV) basic voting sessions can be performed without the need of a central control unit. The voting session is controlled via the chairman voting control buttons, the results of the session are displayed on the OLED information display of each unit within the system.

The Digital Conferencing battery pack is a high performance Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack has been designed to provide in excess of 20 hours continuous service from a chairman/delegate wireless conference unit on a full charge. Used with the WC-CHT six (6) unit charging tray, the battery can be charged in approximately four (4) hours from a complete discharge. The battery has an external power connection to allow a power adaptor to plug directly into the battery for operation and charging. A push to test button enables an LED bar to display the current battery life and capacity status.

The Digital Conferencing Gooseneck Microphone is a high performance condenser microphone developed specifically for the Digital Conferencing conference units. The condenser capsule features a cardioid pattern with a 50 Hz to 20 KHz frequency range, maximizing speaker pick-up while minimizing the risk of acoustic feedback. The microphone has been designed to have very low susceptibility to interference from mobile phones. The unit features a high bright red illuminated ring which is bright enough to be seen in camera broadcast lighting when the microphone is active.

FAQ

How long can a conference unit operate on a fully charged battery?
A fully charged Lithium-Ion battery will last up to 20 hours of continuous use. Charge time for a battery is approximately 4 hours. Charge times can vary based upon the temperature and venting of the charging unit. Charger must be well ventilated.

Do I need software to use the voting feature?
No, the Wireless Digital Conferencing WC-CIV, WC-CV, WC-DIV and WC-DV provide for voting functions. The chairman units have the ability to start/stop voting, and cast a vote while the delegate units can only cast a vote once a vote is started by a chairman unit. The results will then be automatically displayed on the on each of the conference units as the vote is in progress and after it has been stopped.

How many wireless units can be connected to the WCAP+?
The total number of units that can be connected is 1024; however the distance from the WACP+ for connectivity is limited to 98.4 ft. (30 m). Contact Listen Technical Support for more information.

Can I use a conference system without chairman unit?
Yes you can, however, there will not be any priority function available. The head member of the meeting (chairman) will not be able to manage the microphone system by use of a typical delegate unit.

Does the system have a wireless interpretation unit?
No. To provide interpretation services the system must connect to a Confidea CU and have a wired ID2500 interpreter’s control unit attached to the Central Unit.
