FAQ

Will the ListenPoint system accept stereo inputs?
Yes, All stereo inputs are summed internally to a mono signal. The rest of the signal path within the ListenPoint™ system is mono. Even though the CU has a Left and Right Line Output, it is actually a mono signal.

Does the CU have an Auto-Off feature?
The M1s have an auto-off feature, however the CU does not.

Does the LPT-C6 include a rack mount kit?
No, you need to purchase the LPT-A101 Rack Mount Kit separately.

Can I use Cat-6 or Cat-7 cable with the CU?
Yes, however Cat-5e is the minimum.

What is the maximum length of Cat-5e cable between CU and RM?
Maximum length for full power is 75 ft. (23 m)

How much does the RM weigh?
The RM weigh’s 1.75 lbs. (.8 kg)

Can I interface to a 70 volt system?
If your facility has a 70 volt (or 25 volt or 8 ohm) paging system, you can feed that signal into the “Paging Input” on the RM. The RM can pass the page through to your ListenPoint™ speakers, and/or duck the audio from the ListenPoint™ system. The ListenPoint™ system does not have a 70 volt output. The four power amplifiers are designed to drive either 8 or 4 ohm loads. You may however use either a non-powered RM or take the Line Output from the CU and drive a 70 volt power amplifier.

Does the system have Muting or Ducking function during Paging?
Yes, there are four levels of ducking Low, Medium, High, and off. Low is 6 db, Med is 12 db, and high is 18 db.

Do additional sensors need the additional power supply in the RM?
No, all sensors are powered off one RM and its power supply.

How large of an area can systems cover?
The RM with its onboard sensor emitter can accommodate a 30’ x 30’ (9 m by 9 m) room. For larger rooms you will need to add up to two additional remote IR sensors.

What are the mounting options that are included with the LPT-S5?
Ceiling Mount (Ceiling Box, Wall board or Drop Ceiling), Wall Mount (Wall Box or Wall Board) and Table Mount (Top and Bottom).

How many M1 can be used with the LPT-R12?
Two (2) M1s can be use at one time.

How many speakers can the LPT-R12 power?
It can power up to eight (8) speakers wired in parallel.

Is the M1 battery easily accessible for easy replacement?
Yes, there is an easy access door on the back.

How does the M1 display what source you are turning up or down?
The M1s volume control only adjusts the currently active Aux input. It is usually the source that is playing. If two inputs are playing at the same time, the M1 will control the most recent source to come online (to play audio).

Can I use the M1 as a boundary microphone?
Yes you can, it works very well as a boundary microphone.

What is the pickup pattern?
The M1 has an omni-directional pattern.

What does the LED do on the M1?

When I plug in the external microphone into the M1 does it disable the microphone element on the M1?
Yes, the external microphone takes precedence over the internal microphone.

On the external line input on the M1 can I mix my microphone audio with this and how do I adjust the input level?
Yes, the external line input on the M1 will mix with either the external microphone or the internal microphone. You adjust the level of the mix by changing the output level on your external device e.g. the output of your iPod.

Can I plug a non Listen microphone into the M1?
Yes as long as the microphone meets the same microphone output specifications.

What type of sound processing are you using?
The microphone has a limiting system that controls the volume over a good range. No feedback elimination.

Yes you can via local programming of the M1.
