Each year AV professionals celebrate the AV industry during a week in October known as AV Week. Audio Visual is a fun and exciting industry and AV products enhance the experience in many venues.
We’ve all seen on television and in movies those high-tech board rooms and control rooms with people who, despite being located worlds apart, appear to be in the same room. We’ve seen lights dimmed and videos start with the touch of a single button, large presentation boards that reveal information when lecturers drag their index fingers across, and we’ve seen people passing files, and even videos, back and forth between computers and to and from cell phones.
Planning a new classroom, whether it be a tiered 65 person classroom with fixed seating, a flat floor space with movable furniture to accommodate 35 students, or any other configuration need not be difficult at all, if you can define the appropriate room characteristics.
InfoComm is the largest and most comprehensive professional audio visual event in the world. On June 5 11, 2010 more than 32,000 AV professionals from 90+ countries and 900+ exhibitors will participate in this years InfoComm 2010, in Las Vegas Nevada.
Isn’t it fun to exceed expectations? Every year we have with InfoComm’s AV Week. And this year (October 17-23, 2010) I hope will be a repeat with even more AV professionals getting involved. AV Week is really just an excuse to show pride in what you do every day. But it does force you out of your comfort zone. Because it’s all about educating others about the value of AV, talking to people unfamiliar with our industry, local officials, students, potential customers. And it’s also very rewarding. InfoComm members tell us they like having the spotlight on them for a change since they’re often behind-the-scenes. They tell us it creates good will and business opportunities.
Jeroen Smit of Clairty Audio Systems in El Dorado Hills California recently did an install with the Listen FM Products for the Timber Creek Lodge. ”We selected the “Listen” system because of the past success of integrating it into other complex systems, and for the quality it delivers, sonically and functionally.” said Jeroen.
